PRIVACY POLICY

BATTLEBACK is a training app for fighters and their coaches. This page says what we collect, why, who processes it for us, and how you can export or delete it. We don't sell your data, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, the name you show, your role (fighter or coach), your time zone, and — for coaches — your gym name. If you sign in with Apple or Google we receive the identity they share (your email and an account identifier).
- Phone number (optional): only if you turn on SMS, so your coach's announcements can reach you by text.
- Training: battle plans, completed tasks, round-timer sessions, streaks, fight camps, and the weight you log.
- Health: with your permission, heart rate is read from Apple Health or Health Connect during a session (average, maximum and a sampled series are saved with the session), and finished sessions are written back as workouts. Nothing else is read from Apple Health or Health Connect. The coach you join can see the heart-rate data saved with your sessions, including the session averages. Health data is never sold or used for advertising.
- What you write: journal entries (with mood) and messages to or from your coach.
- Membership: your subscription status and Stripe customer and subscription ids. Card details are entered on Stripe's page and never reach us. Coaches who set up payouts give their details to Stripe directly.
- Device: a push-notification token for the device you sign in on, and your notification settings.
- Usage and diagnostics: which features are used (for example "task completed", with no text you wrote), tied to your account id; and crash and error reports. Journal text, weight, phone numbers and heart-rate series are stripped from error reports.
Who can see it
While you're on a coach's roster, your coach sees your plans, completions, sessions (with their heart rate), streaks, weight, fight camps, and your journal entries that you haven't marked private (earlier ones too). Mark an entry private and your coach can't read it. When you leave a coach, they lose access to your data and your conversation with them.
Who processes it for us
- Supabase — database, sign-in and file storage.
- Stripe — memberships, payments and coach payouts.
- Expo — delivering push notifications.
- Twilio — text messages, if you turned on SMS (reply STOP to any of them to opt out).
- Resend — account emails.
- Sentry — crash and error reports.
- PostHog — product usage analytics, in the app and on this website.
- Vercel — hosting this website and the web app.
Your data, your call
- Export: YOU → EXPORT MY DATA downloads everything tied to your account as a file.
- Delete: YOU → DELETE ACCOUNT erases your account and its data right away and cancels any membership. If you signed in with Apple, the app asks you to confirm with Apple once more so we can revoke BATTLEBACK's Sign in with Apple access too. You can also request deletion by email.
- Notifications and SMS: switch them off in YOU at any time.
- Health access: revoke it in your phone's Health settings; sessions still save without heart rate.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists. When you delete it, it's removed from our database straight away; copies can remain in routine backups for a limited time before they expire. Stripe keeps payment records as the law requires it to.
